The Anchor & Cap of Liberty Die struck on a 1/4d planchet; the reverse as a brockage. (Middlesex 1058bisII)

The Anchor & Cap of Liberty Die struck on a 1/4d planchet; the reverse as a brockage. (Middlesex 1058bisII)

The Anchor & Cap of Liberty Die struck on a 1/4d planchet; the reverse as an incuse impression of the same die (noted as Middlesex 1058bisII)

This die is the same used for the obverse of Middlesex 1030 and the reverse of Dublin 337, but struck on a 1/4d planchet. It also appears as the reverse of lot 690 of the Noble Sale, then noted as Middlesex 1058bis. The dies for that token were misidentified in the catalogue as those used for Middlesex 1031. They are from Middlesex 1030.

Possibly a Denton issue, this is the second known appearance of this die struck on a 1/4d planchet. 2.75g

Exceptionally rare if not unique.
